Company Profile

Small & Tidmas Ltd are vertical producers of warp knitted fabrics operating from two factories in the South West of England. Our knitting and warping plant is located in Bodmin, Cornwall. Our dyeing and finishing facility and sales offices are located in Barnstaple, North Devon, where textiles have been produced continuously since 1825.

Finished products are manufactured & fabrics are developed in partnership with our customers to exacting standards. The product range is very large, but split equally between both Industrial & Apparel end uses. By operating in both markets, the company has maintained profitability enabling the company to both invest heavily in new technology and operate without debt burden.

Small & Tidmas specialise in warp knitted fabrics, both beam dyed & jet dyed. The core markets are lingerie & lamination, however there are also a large number of unique products developed for specialised end uses. Finishing processes include brushing, raising and chemical finish application. Manufacturing capacity at Small & Tidmas is 200,000m per week. All production is visually inspected 100% and tight inspection standards maintained.
Our quality management systems are controlled by BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System (GB06/67842) and we hold Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (test number 2351).
We have experienced the same problems as the rest of the UK textile trade. However, by sound management principles & investment, we have managed to secure a position in the market that offers security to our customers in terms of long term supply. The textile market is increasingly Global and Small & Tidmas are meeting this challenge through manufacturing efficiencies & economies of scale.
